Třeboňská pánev


This basin is a large system of ponds in the south of the Czech Republic. The building the ponds started mainly in 15.-16. Century, when Jakub Krčín z Jelčan an an worked for the stock Rožmberk. He build the biggest and more famous ponds in the Czech Republic, the ponds in 1571 and in 1584-1590 the pond Rožmberk, 489 ha large. Rožmberk is also the biggest pond in the middle Europe. The name of the basin is derived from town Třeboň, where we can find baths and very nice castle.
